Epivir Solution (nucleoside reverses transcriptase inhibitors-NRTI) is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. It lowers your chance of getting HIV complications and improves your quality of life.
Epivir solution is usually taken once or twice a day with or without food taken by mouth. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Epivir exactly as directed.
It controls HIV and hepatitis B infections but does not cure them. Continue to take this medicine even if you feel well.
